Payment Plans

Payment Plans

MSU is pleased to offer payment plans allowing parents and students the flexibility to spread payments for tuition and required fees, residence halls, meal plans, and other expenses through scheduled monthly installments. These plans are administered by Nelnet Business Solutions. Online enrollment is quick and easy through the QuikPAY® platform.

Payment Plan Options and Cost

MSU offers two payment plan options:

  • Annual Payment Plan
    • Non-refundable enrollment fee of $75.00 is due at the time the plan is established.
    • Each semester's fees will be divided into 5 monthly auto-draft payments.
      • Payments will auto-draft on the first of each month beginning in August and ending in December for Fall. The first payment for Spring will auto-draft in January and the last in May.

  • Semester Payment Plan
    • Non-refundable enrollment fee of $50.00 due at the time the plan is established.
    • The current semester’s fees will be divided into 4 monthly payments.
      • Payments will auto-draft on the first of each month beginning in August and ending in November for Fall. The first payment for Spring will auto-draft in January and the last in April.
    • Another semester plan would need to be established for EACH semester.

Late enrollment will require a down payment and reduce the number of monthly installment payments. Please click here to see the enrollment windows for both plans.

**Payment plans are not offered during summer terms. **

Installment Due Date

Payments will auto-draft on the 1st of each month (or the 1st business day) from the account that you link to during the enrollment process. Payments may be set-up to draft from a U.S. checking or savings account as an automatic bank payment (ACH) or a credit/debit card (additional 2.8% fee will be assessed).

Rebalancing

Payment plans will be adjusted daily to reflect additional charges, student aid payments, and personal payments applied to the account throughout the semester. This process is called rebalancing and happens automatically.

Each student and authorized payer will receive an email notification that the plan has been rebalanced which includes the date of the next scheduled installment payment.
