Tuition and Required Fees: Tuition is the basic, comprehensive, multi-purpose charge all students are required to pay as a condition of enrollment at a university. Tuition and required fees are assessed to all students to pay the costs of some of the student services or facilities provided by MSU.
Full-Time Tuition and Required Fees(excluding the College of Veterinary Medicine)
Undergraduate Resident (12-19 hours) $2,730.50 per semester
Undergraduate Non-Resident (add to resident tuition) $4,170.00 per semester
Graduate Resident (9-13 hours) $2,730.50 per semester
Graduate Non-Resident (add to resident tuition) $4,170.00 per semester
Part-Time Tuition and Required Fees
Undergraduate Resident (1-11 hours) $227.75 per hour
Undergraduate Non-Resident (add to resident tuition) $347.50 per hour
Graduate Resident (1-8 hours) $303.50 per hour
Graduate Non-Resident (add to resident tuition) $463.50 per hour
Summer Tuition and Required Fees (excluding the College of Veterinary Medicine)
Undergraduate Resident $227.75 per hour
Undergraduate Non-Resident (add to resident) $347.50 per hour
Graduate Resident $303.50 per hour
Graduate Non-Resident (add to resident) $463.50 per hour

Course Participation Fees: Fees in addition to tuition are associated with a select few courses which require the use of special materials or have field trips associated with them. These fees, which vary from course to course, will be collected as part of registration.

International Student Charges: All international students are required to pay a $100.00 Administrative Programming Fee each term or semester. International students whose programs of study are administered through the Office of International Programs will pay an additional $200.00 each enrolled term. Health insurance for international students will be $494.00 for the fall semester and $684.00 for spring/summer.

Tuition and Required Fees Waiver: Necessary waiver authorizations must be processed promptly, preferably by the last day of final registration for each term.

  • Children of Alumni
  • Academic Common Market
  • Athletes
Examples of Resident tuition waivers are:

Audit Charges: Persons not registered as regular students may attend a course by paying an audit equal to the prevailing per credit hour rate(s)

Other Fees: Fees which may be incurred by students include the Identification Card replacement cost for lost or damaged cards - $30.00, Thesis Publication fee - $55.00 (required), Dissertation Publication Fee - $65.00 (required), Copyright - $65.00 (optional), and Open Access via ProQuest - $95.00 (optional).

Telecommunications: Telecommunications charges are for personal long distance usage.

Student Health Center: Student Health Center charges are for personally-incurred fees for medical services or insurance premiums.

Billing & Service Fees:Your monthly statement will be generated by the 15th of each month on the web. Please be sure that we have your correct home billing address, since you will be responsible for paying your fees even if you do not receive a bill. To correct your home billing address, you may access the MSU MyBanner web page at https://mybanner.msstate.edu/, click "Login to MyBanner", enter your net id and password, then select PERSONAL INFORMATION, select UPDATE ADDRESS INFORMATION.

To view your billing statement, navigate to MSU MyBanner web page at, https://mybanner.msstate.edu/, click "Login to MyBanner", enter your net id and password, then select PERSONAL INFORMATION, then VIEW YOUR BILLING STATEMENT.
